Shelton woman shot when she opens door
SHELTON, Wash. -- A Shelton woman was shot when she opened her door to two men early Wednesday.
Chief Deputy Dean Byrd said at least one other person was in the house when the shooting happened just before 4 a.m.
When deputies arrived at the home on Tyler Lane the two intruders were already gone.
The weather prevented an airlift so medics drove the woman to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia where she was listed in critical condition.
Deputies are trying to find the shooter and determine what prompted the attack.

this had nothing to do with drugs. and she lives right next to her mom and nieghbors she could of never knew if it had something to do with them. especially when she had no way to see. barbie was my cousin and she was loved by many !!
Heh, there is a reason I have a security camera pointed at the front entrance (and other places on the property). No need to look through the peephole (in line of fire) to check the front porch. I don't answer the door for people I don't know.
Should not have opend the door? I don't know the two men at the door, what could possible go wrong? Tweekers all around
 @dkgiovenco Seriously. Shut the hell up. She got shot in the face. She has 4 small children. She is a wonderful person, and a great mother. Nobody knows yet who did this. Perhaps she knew the two men. Don't talk about things you don't know about.Â
Whatever happened to compassion? This woman was SHOT. She is a victim. Whether there were drugs involved or not is irrelevant - nobody deserves this.Â
Why does most people think tweakers? This lady could have worked the night shift, she could have been suffering from some kind of pain that left her unable to sleep normal hours. You all need to stop judging people. Just because people do not have the same hours of you does not mean they are on drugs. Get over it and wait for the truth before you look like a dumba** by speaking.Â

 @oledawg I did not call anyone out, I ask why people think that way, i got a reply of that is what the police said, I reply with letting them know that I have not READ that anywhere but then this a**hole wants to go off on me because that it was on TV. If someone post a web site that's fine, I never click on them. I go back and forth from komo and work. I do not like having many web pages open. He did not call me out in anyway, he assume that I would watch TV and I made sure he knew that I didn't. Hell if you all think that this is being called out, I really don't want to know what happens when you really are called out.

 @Just my say Police say they believe she was targeted and had a history of drug arrests, more times than not that points to drug users.

 @oledawg I have not read that anywhere. Maybe she did have a past but that does not mean she is a user today.She may have been targeted for helping the police clean up the streets. No one knows. Everyone grabs bits and pieces of the story and turn it around to please them. Whatever makes the story have more drama is the best way to go.Â

@ 4am, I wouldn't even think about opening the door unless it was a friend of mine. What was this woman thinking? Just opening the door freely at 4am? Only thing opening around that time in my house would be me opening fire if need be. Hope this woman will recover and has learned her lesson.
Any shooting in Shelton has to be linked to a drug deal somehow. Meth has become too rampant... another news source said the police "are familiar with her" from drug problems in the past....

I'm not gonna speak for everyone, but if someone was at my door that early, I'm sure I wouldn't be answering it. And if it's true that this was drug related as what I'm reading in the comments below, maybe that info should be posted here, you think?
4 am, roommate also awake...those two were tweaking!
 @dgruntled No one was awake when it happened. She was woken up by aknock on the door @ 3 AM.
I@dgruntled - 'm awake at 4am - I have to get up that early to make my commute time. Not sure if I would be opening my door to two strangers though.
@dgruntled I am often awake that time of night...I have sleep issues and don't touch drugs. I have no idea here, just wanted to comment that not all people up at night are tweakers, not sure why people have to be so negative before details are even given.

 @Tattooed_Angel I had someone pounding on my door late at night once. I immediately called the police. My ferociously barking dogs scared them off. No way I would have opened that door. I just doubled checked the alarm system, and waited for the police.Â
4 am huh....yeah I'm not opening the door for anybody I don't recognize at 4 in the morning. Definitely coming to the door gun in hand as well. Has to be a reason why this lady was targeted. Hope she recovers and the people responsible are punished.

This is why I have a peephole on my door...if I don't know you, I'm not gonna open the door, ESPECIALLY at 4 AM!!!Â
No kidding! Heck, I don't even go to the door to see who's there if I'm not expecting anyone.  I figure it's either someone trying to sell me something, preach to me about their ridiculous religious beliefs, have the wrong house, or they're up to no good.Â
