Semi road rage leads to big mess along I-5
MAYTOWN, Wash. -- Apparent road rage led to a big mess on I-5 in this town south of Olympia Wednesday afternoon.
Trooper Brandy Kessler with the Washington State Patrol says the driver of a semi truck got into an altercation in the southbound lanes with the driver of another truck that was trailing part of a plane fuselage.
The driver of the trailer then slammed on his brakes, and it caused the plane part to fall off the trailer and careen along the dirt shoulder before coming to a rest a short distance later.
Luckily, the plane part was not blocking the lanes, so traffic was able to get by, but it was quite a distraction. Troopers said they were waiting until after Wednesday evening's rush hour had passed to go in and remove the plane part from the shoulder.
Kessler says they are still sorting out exactly what happened and both drivers are being questioned.
