Search for Tacoma suspect comes up empty

TACOMA - A man wanted for questioning in connection with a March shooting in the Old Town neighborhood is still at large after a search by Tacoma police came up empty.

Police rerouted traffic around the 3500 block of South M Street while they searched for the man inside a home in that area earlier this afternoon.

Officers say they are looking for James D. Wamsley, 30, who is wanted on an outstanding warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm and is a person of interest in the homicide investigation.

Wamsley, also known as "Long Haired Jimmy" on the streets, has an extensive criminal history, and should be considered armed and dangerous. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and charges being filed.

He is described as a white male, six foot one, 190 pounds, with dark blonde hair, blue eyes, and sometimes has a goatee.

He is a person of interest in connection with a March shooting in the Old Town neighborhood of Tacoma.
