KEYPORT, Wash -- Officials say a boat that sank at its slip Thursday morning is responsible for a long fuel sheen near Keyport.
The 50-foot boat sank at the Keyport Marina, and fuel from the vessel drifted for about a half mile.
It was not clear what caused the boat to go down.
Crews put berms and oil-soaking pads around the sunken boat, but they were not able to contain the fuel.
Kitsap County Emergency Management officials were working to assess the environmental impact.
