UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. -- A 2-alarm fire burned part of a University Place restaurant early Friday morning.

Someone walking by the Ale House Pub at 2122 Mildred Street West noticed smoke pouring from the restaurant and called 911, said Hallie McCurdy with West Pierce Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters arrived to find flames in the kitchen, spreading into the attic. They were able to quickly knock down the flames and prevent them from spreading through the rest of the restaurant. No one was hurt.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire. There's no word yet then the pub will reopen for business.
