BREMERTON, Wash. - Kitsap County sheriff's detectives are investigating after two people were found shot to death Sunday at a home in the Navy Yard City neighborhood of Bremerton, officials said.

Deputies responded to the scene, a residence at 1609 Charleston Beach Road West, at about 12:40 p.m. after receiving a report of a possible shooting.

Kitsap County sheriff's officials say neighbors on the street became concerned after finding a wounded dog and spotting visible bullet holes at the home.

At first neighbors thought only the dog was injured. But when a young boy discovered a body at the front door, residents called 911.

Deputies found two people dead - a man and a woman - when they arrived at the scene, and investigators say it appears to be a possible murder-suicide.

Some neighbors say they heard two people arguing before the shooting.

"I hear this lady ranting and raving - I can't make out what she's saying," says neighbor George Savoy. "Twenty minutes go by, I hear bang-bang-bang."

"I got my shoes on, thinking somebody needs help and ran down, and there was a man laying on the front door steps, and a gun laying in between his legs on the steps," says another neighbor, Crystal Varnes.

Sheriff's officials are not confirming who pulled the trigger.

The identities of the man and woman have not been released.

The injured dog was taken to a local veterinarian for emergency care, and it's not known whether it survived.
