PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Two people have been found shot to death in a home in Puyallup's South Hill neighborhood in what detectives are investigating as a double murder.

Detectives said the homeowner called police late Monday morning after arriving at the home to visit his son and seeing his body through a window.

Investigators broke down the door to the home, located in the 9400 block of 175th St. Ct. E., and found the remains of the homeowner's son and another man. Both appeared to have been shot.

"It appears they were both killed in the same room. Doesn't look like there was much of a struggle," said Det. Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators said guns, ammunition and ballistic vests were strewn about the house.

"At this point we have no motive, nobody that saw or heard anything," said Troyer.

Neighbors said they didn't hear any gunshots or see anything unusual until police arrived just after 9 a.m.

"It didn't really to me seem to me like a house that would have that kind of activity. I was just kind of surprised," said Cory Litchfield.

But neighbor Alvin Stephan said he had an uneasy feeling when the homeowner's son introduced him to some of his friends just a few days ago.

"He had a couple new people staying with him that, I don't know, I didn't feel comfortable with," he said.

Detectives do not believe this was a random crime. Still, neighbors remain unnerved by the violent incident.

"I have a daughter and another on the way, so it's scary to think you might have somebody out there," said Litchfield.
