The driver was oubviosly trying to impress his friends and lost control due to some unseen hazard. Sad they had to die so young.
Who does the writing? AP or local KOMO reporters? Whoever it is, obviously never studied journalism, or even proper sentence construction...

That said, it's always tragic to lose someone so young, especially under these circumstances. I lost 5 friends in a crash many years ago and it still reminds me of that accident every time I read about another teenage car accident.
In 2007, the latest year for which data are available, motor vehicle crashes were the leading cause of death among 13-19 year-old males and females in the United States.
A total of 3,466 teenagers ages 13-19 died in motor vehicle crashes in 2009.

So how long are we going to ignore this slaughter of our children?
I know, we need some new gun laws, that will fix it.
So very sad. I can't even imagine how their friends and family must feel. Â Stories like this make me glad my teenager is in no rush to get his driver's license. Â
Why am i not surprised? It's the same scenario . . . teen driver, fast car, late at night. So, when are we going to start a total ban against teens owning or driving cars, like the current push to ban GUNS? I have never caused any type of fatality with a car or GUN in my life - EVER! More deaths happen on the roadways by far than are ever caused by GUNS! The real problem is idiotic people doing deadly acts with tools capable of lethal force. Stop the insane behavior of people and you will see a return to social civility!
@Suspishissofu As soon as we get finished banning you from posting stupid comments after heartbreaking articles like this one...
@Suspishissofu And when did you start driving?
@Suspishissofu Really? I wasn't aware it was late at night and at fast speeds. You done ranting?
were been killed?Â

that's a new one...
@lakeview If you come to komonews often... it's not a new one...
RIP. I hope there will be grievance counselors available for their classmates at school.
What a sad, sad start to the new year.
