SEATTLE -- Two people, including a Seattle University student, were injured Friday in a South Seattle shooting.

Police say a group of people in one truck shot at another truck in the 800 block of Rainier Avenue South just after 1:30 p.m.

Two victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center with gunshot wounds. In a message sent to members of the school community, Seattle University officials said one of the victims attends the school. The message said the woman is conscious, alert and being treated for her injuries.

After the shooting, police began looking for a grey GMC Yukon or Chevy Suburban with a red stripe on the side. The car was last seen headed south on Rainier. A license plate number was not available.

It is not known what prompted the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.

Several hours later, officers responded to another call of shots fired near the intersection of 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street. Police believe a man was firing at a group of men he knew, but nobody was hit.

Micah McGuire wasn't in the line of fire, but his car was hit by stray bullets.

"I went into the church and about five minutes later the shooting started. So, praise God, right?" he said.

Mo Toure was in the area when the shots rang out and had to run for cover in his clothing store.

"I was scared for my life just thinking about my family," he said.

Police soon found a man they believe to be the shooter inside a nearby clothing store. The man, who is in his early 20s, was arrested without incident, and a handgun was found inside the store.

While officers were searching for the 23rd and Jackson shooter, they spotted a light blue Chevy SUV with red stripe on the side. Police now believe it's the same SUV from the shooting on Rainier Avenue, though they have yet to say the two shootings are connected.
