2 killed in Hwy. 530 crash, including 12-year-old boy
OSO, Wash. - A 12-year-old boy and a 60-year-old man were killed Saturday morning in a head-on crash on Highway 530 near the Snohomish County town of Oso, the Washington State Patrol reported.

State troopers responded to the scene, roughly midway between Arlington and Darrington, at about 10:10 a.m.

An investigation found that a 1990 Toyota pickup driven by John H. Jones, 60, of Concrete was heading west on Highway 530 when it turned left in front of a 1999 Ford F350 pickup that was heading east.

The Toyota hit the Ford F350 head-on, and both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane.

Jones and his passenger, 12-year-old Dakota Robertson of Concrete, were both pronounced dead at the crash scene.

The driver of the Ford F350, a 29-year-old Arlington man, was taken to Cascade Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Both vehicles were totalled.

Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the collision.
