2 men killed in overnight crash near Monroe
MONROE, Wash. - Two men were found dead inside a car that crashed through a fence sometime early Sunday morning outside Monroe, officials said.
Snohomish County sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, in the 23200 block of Sophie Road, at about 5:25 a.m. after a delivery driver spotted the wreckage and called 911, said Lt. Rodney Rochon.
When deputies arrived, they found a car that had smashed through a fence, with two men inside. Both were dead, and it appeared the crash had happened some time before.
Neighbors told investigators they had heard something at about 1:30 a.m. but could see nothing unusual in the darkness.
A preliminary investigation found that the cause of death for both men was impalement and blunt force trauma. There were no immediate signs that the driver was impaired, and it appears excessive speed was the primary factor in the crash, Rochon said.
One of the victims is from Sultan and the other is from Monroe. The next of kin have been notified, but authorities did not release the men's names.
The case remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit.

Seriously dont even say that. I knew one of those men and he was an amazing person do not insult them...they are dead and their families are suffering isnt that enough
Lots of lead foots this weekend. Not sure why people are in such a rush to test whether or not they'll survive or die. Maybe going to a race course is the better and safer choice.
@Pollywannacracker Obviously you do not have a clue about these kids. From looking at your other posts you have no life outside of your "KOMO" family. Sometimes its better to just keep your fingers off the keys. You should have named yourself Pollywannabeadumb@zz.
I'll never understand how someone can hear a huge crash on their property and not go take a look. If they're not physically able to do so, pick up the dang phone and call a neighbor or 911. Someone's life may have been saved had the homeowners not wandered off back to bed.
@Jill Are you familar with that road? Plenty of farmland and fields all with fences that they could have driven through and not been in someones yard or in view from any of the homes...
@ajohnsoccer21  @Jill All I know is that at least two people heard a crash loud enough to wake them up or at least capture their attention, they got up, went outside and, because it was dark, they couldn't see anything so they went back in.

All I'm suggesting is that, should they not feel up to walking/driving over to the sound of the loud crash, that they pick up the phone and call someone who can. Lives could have been saved here, we'll never know.
@Jill  @ajohnsoccer21 No they were killed instantlyÂ
@Jill I also live in the country and sometimes hear crashes. But they are usually wild life - especially bears or elk - rampaging around outside. And - it can be difficult to see what has happened when it's pitch black and the crash could have happened over a broad area.
