2 wounded in drive-by shooting in Rainier Valley

SEATTLE -- A man and woman were wounded in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in Seattle's Rainier Valley, Seattle police said.

Officers were called to the 7300 block of Rainier Ave. S. just after 1 a.m. to find a woman on the ground with a gunshot wound to her leg and a man with a wound to his foot, said Det. Renee Witt.

Both victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators said a green car pulled up next to the curb and fired three shots where the victims were standing, then left southbound on Rainier. The victims said no words were exchanged and they didn't get a good look at the shooters.

A search of the area for the shooters came up empty, Witt said.
