2 wounded when drug deal turns into gun fight

PARKLAND, Wash. -- Two men were wounded Monday morning when a when a drug dealer and would-be robber shot each other inside a Parkland apartment complex, according to investigators.
Pierce County sheriff spokesman Ed Troyer said the incident began about 7 a.m. when two men tried to rob a methamphetamine dealer.
One of the robbers pulled out a shotgun, and the dealer drew a .45-caliber handgun, Troyer said. Both men fired and hit each other.
The would-be robber was shot multiple times and ran to a home near the intersection of 114th Street South and 112th Avenue South where he called 911.
He was taken to a hospital and was undergoing surgery, but officials said he was in stable condition.
The dealer was hit in the leg and is also recovering at a hospital. Sheriff's deputies are still looking for the second robber.
Investigators got a search warrant for the apartment where the shooting happened and found methamphetamine inside, Troyer said.
