Man calls 911, admits to stabbing

By KOMO Staff

SEATTLE -- A woman was found murdered inside a South Seattle home on Friday, and a man may have already confessed to the crime, according to police.

Asst. Chief Nick Metz said the woman was found stabbed inside an apartment complex in the 2100 block of South Main Street.

A man called 911 around 9 p.m. and said he had stabbed a woman an hour earlier, Metz said. Police arrived to find the woman already dead and arrested the man.

"Officers said when they arrived, he was still in the residence. They asked the 911 center to call him, asked him to come outside and he came out without any trouble, and immediately gave himself up to officers," Metz said.

Police did not identify the man, and said they have not established a relationship between him and the woman.

It is not known what had prompted the violence.

The investigation is ongoing.
