KENT, Wash. - A 2-year-old boy who was hit by a truck on Friday has died of his injuries.

Police say around 8 p.m. the boy ran across the street towards his father at the Birch Creek Apartments on the east hill of Kent.

A 56-year-old Kent man was driving through the apartment complex on his way to work, and struck the boy as he crossed the street, according to police.

Medics revived the boy, and airlifted him to Harborview Medical Center in life-threatening condition with a possible skull fracture.

The toddler later died of his injuries Saturday morning, according to officials at Harborview.

The driver stayed on scene and has not been charged. Police say there were no signs of speeding or intoxication, and the situation appears to be a tragic accident.
