KIRKLAND, Wash -- Firefighters and area residents have a big mess on their hands after a water main broke near Juanita Village Monday afternoon.

The break occurred in the 11700 block of 98th Ave. NE around 2 o'clock, Northshore Utility District officials said.

The water has bucked the road, which remains closed between NE 116th Street and NE 120th Street.

Crews are warning customers as far as four blocks away from the break that they could have their water shut off while crews make repairs to the main. They estimate it'll take until midday Tuesday to complete those repairs.

No word yet on what caused the rupture.
