TACOMA, Wash. -- Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man who stole a truck Thursday morning and ran over the brother of the vehicle's owner, killing him.

Sheriff spokesman Ed Troyer said deputies are looking for a light silver 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck with 20-inch chrome wheels and a large decal in the back window that reads "Hater Most Wanted."

The truck's Washington license plate number is B61070G.

Family members said the victim and his brother work as roofers, and they were warming up the truck in the 1007 block of 73rd Street East when the thief jumped inside and tried to drive away about 6:45 a.m.

The thief ran over the victim twice and sped off, the man's family said.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911.

The name of the man who was killed has not been released.
