Car crashes into wall after police pursuit
DES MOINES, Wash. - A car with four people inside sideswiped two other vehicles then crashed into a retaining wall as it was pursued by a King County sheriff's deputy in a patrol car.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon in the 21800 block of Marine View Drive, when a green Chevy Capri slammed into a retaining wall. The wall prevented the car from plowing into a sushi restaurant.

Some occupants of the sideswiped cars sustained minor injuries, but no one was seriously hurt in the incident.

A spokesman for the King County Sheriff's Office said the incident began when a deputy attempted to pull over the Chevy on suspicion that it had a weapon inside.

The driver took off, and the deputy gave chase.

After the car hit the wall, the male driver was arrested for investigation of evasion. So far he has refused to provide his name to deputies.

The other occupants of the car, two men and a woman, were released.

An inspection of the car found ammunition inside, but no weapon.
