3 Oregon State football players arrested in brawl

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Three Oregon State football players spent Saturday behind bars following a brawl at a Corvallis bar.
Corvallis Police Lt. Cord Wood tells the Gazette Times that the players were arrested at about 2:20 a.m. on Saturday. They were identified as: Rudolf Fifita, a senior defensive end; Mana Rosa, a junior defensive tackle; and Dyllon Kalena Mafi, a junior linebacker.
Authorities say Fifita and an unidentified victim got into a heated exchange, when a friend of the victim stepped in and cooled things down. But as the men were leaving, police say Fifita threw a punch, and Mafi and Rosa joined. Police say both victims were punched multiple times. The players fled when a bouncer showed up, and they were arrested nearby.
Out of the three players arrested, Fifita saw the most action this season, playing in all 12 games and compiling 25 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks. Rosa also played in 12 games while Mafi saw action in two.
The Beavers will play Texas in the Alamo Bowl Dec. 29. There was no word on the players' status for the bowl game.
Coach Mike Riley was out of town and unavailable for comment, but a spokesman told The Oregonian that Riley would discuss the matter when practice resumes on Monday.

Let me get this straight. The three guys in question may not be able to play in the Alamo Bowl on Dec 29. It's now Jan 23, more than three weeks after the game. Is KOMO getting hard pressed to find current news stories. And who really cares about three loser Oregon football player in the first place.
Let's wait for some more facts before passing judgement. As a big guy I learned quick to avoid bars due to the fact that men would single me out to test their metal. I never started a fight but I most assuredly defended myself.
Why are comments on this site so negative. Do we hate each other so much that we have become ugly in the heart.. Because booze may have been involved, I'll wait until those involved sort out the details.
The school needs to drop them all from the lineup, revoke their scholarships and expel the on Monday. They would then have to pay back their scholarship moneys before they could get into a different collage or have any credits released from Oregon State. This type of behavior has been excepted by the sports world way to long. Time to teach these people to behave off the field. Hitting them in the pocket book seems to be the only thing they understand.
I bet they were arguing over the winner of the Caption Contest of that shot of the Seattle Mist QB and center!

@Getov Mylon II'm almost certain a couple of those chicks could bench press me.
@customerservice To paraphrase Winston Churchill; "...and I would let them."
We expect this of Oregon players, but Oregon State? What a bunch of d-bags.
Well at least for once there wasn't any gunfire involved.
And it was ever thus in the worship of the culture...
Bullies never change.
Â
I'd bet the senior plays anyway.
.........There was no word on the players' status for the bowl game.
Â
The only word(s) should be:Â No, not playing...benched, if not kicked off team.
Why is it guys with necks thicker than their heads get into trouble?
They need to sit on their arse in a cell and not go with the team to the Bowl Game. There is a code of conduct for student athletes, and they need to suffer the consequences of their actions. Playing on a Div 1 football team is a PRIVELEGE not an entitlement. they should not be above the law.
They look like the creme of the crop no doubt!
