30-foot dead humpback whale washes ashore at Grayland

GRAYLAND, Wash. (AP) - A 30-foot humpback whale washed ashore Sunday at Grayland on the Washington coast north of Westport.

Kathryn Myrsell with the Westport Aquarium tells KBKW it appears to have been dead for at least a week and had lacerations on its tail.

Biologists from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Cascadia Research performed a necropsy Monday to see what they could learn about the animal.
