OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi is resisting efforts by Gov. Chris Gregoire's supporters to make him testify in a lawsuit over campaign fundraising.

The lawsuit was filed earlier this week against the Building Industry Association of Washington, a trade group that's a big Rossi supporter.

Two former judges who support Gregoire filed the suit. They say Rossi and the building industry group worked too closely in arranging campaign money on his behalf.

Rossi denies doing anything wrong.

The lawsuit seeks to make Rossi testify on Oct. 15, the first day that absentee ballots are available. That's also the day of the final debate in the governor's race.

Gregoire says Rossi should testify under oath. But Rossi says it's a partisan stunt.
