Victim of Wenatchee shooting identified

WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) - Wenatchee police today identified a man killed in an early-morning shooting yesterday as 27-year-old Alberto Amezcua of Wenatchee.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jorge Rios was critically wounded and is at Central Washington Hospital.

Police are looking for the shooter, who has been identified as a 21-year-old East Wenatchee man. They say they have received tips that he has left the area. The driver of the getaway car, a 20-year-old man, has been arrested for investigation of second-degree murder for aiding the shooter.

Police say the shootings were gang related.

Police say the shootings occurred after a fight broke out involving 12 to 20 people outside a house. Police say the participants battled in the yard, driveway and street in front of the home with bats, sticks and bricks before a person got a handgun from a truck parked in the driveway of the home and fired shots at the crowd of rival gang members.

A neighbor says he heard six to eight shots.
