Rossi allies post $4 million contribution in gov's race

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - A conservative business group has upped the ante in the governor's race by putting another $4 million into its campaign.

The political action committee It's Time For A Change recently posted the huge contribution to help Republican Dino Rossi win the governor's election. Rossi is running a close rematch with Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire.

Most of the money comes from the Building Industry Association of Washington, a major Rossi supporter.

That trade group has been under fire from Gregoire allies, who accuse the BIAW of illegally coordinating its fundraising with Rossi. The group and Rossi deny wrongdoing.

Rossi and Gregoire have raised almost $20 million combined in the most expensive election in Washington history.
