Police talk man off monorail track
By KOMO Staff
SEATTLE -- Police briefly shut down the Seattle Monorail and blocked of parts of 5th Avenue near Westlake Mall on Monday while they negotiated with a man who was on the monorail tracks.
It was not clear how the man got on the tracks or what he wanted, but he used sign language to communicate with police officers who talked him down after about 20 minutes. "He came down under his own power," said police spokeswoman Renee Witt. Fire department medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center where he was expected to undergo a psychological evaluation, officials said. |
