Bicyclist fatally struck by car is identified
SEATTLE - A bicyclist who died early Thursday after being hit by a car in the Skyway neighborhood has been identified as Paul Douglas Ratliff, 56, of Seattle.

Ratliff was killed at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday while riding legally in the 13000 block of Renton Avenue South.

He died from from blunt force injuries, including a skull fracture, suffered in the collision with the car, according to the King County Medical Examiners Office.

The driver of the car, a man in his 70s, was not hurt and stopped at the scene. Authorities said he turned his Lincoln Towncar left in front of the bicycle.

The death was ruled an accident. King County sheriff spokesman John Urquhart said no drugs or alcohol were involved.
