TACOMA, Wash. -- A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning after an argument escalated into violence.

Mark Fulghum with Tacoma police said the call came in at 2:30 a.m. for a shooting at a house in the 5400 block of S. Oaks Street.

A party was under way when a verbal argument broke out. More people became involved and in turned into a physical fight.

Someone in the crowd pulled out a gun and shot a 28-year-old man. He died at the scene.

The shooter was able to get away and police are still looking for him. They are interviewing witnesses to get a description.

The victim's name has not been released.
