KENT, Wash. (AP) - A family of three adults and three children escaped a fire that caused an estimated $275,000 damage to their two-story house Sunday morning in Kent.

There were no injuries. The fire at 5:30 a.m. was initially reported to be an electrical problem.

It took 45 minutes to put out the fire because the majority of the blaze was in the crawlspace under the home. Firefighters had to cut holes in the floor and exterior siding in order to reach the flames.

Family members called 911 after smoke alarms in the home went off.

Kent Fire Department Capt. Kyle Ohashi said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Ohashi said the Red Cross is assisting the family.
