Man in wheelchair killed while crossing highway
MUKILTEO, Wash. - A man in a wheelchair was killed Saturday night while trying to cross Highway 99 in an unmarked crosswalk.
Washington State Patrol troopers were called to the scene, at Highway 99 and Gibson Road, at about 10 p.m.
WSP spokesperson Carli M. Luppold said a 58-year-old man was crossing the highway in his wheelchair at an unmarked crossing when he was struck by a Kia Sedona driven by a 26-year-old Everett man.
The victim was found dead at the scene of the accident.
No charges are expected to be filed.
