Driver killed in crash with 5 trees, power pole
OLALLA, Wash. - A speeding motorist was ejected from his car Saturday night as he veered off the roadway and slammed into five trees and a power pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kitsap County Sheriff's deputies and medics responded to the accident, in the 10800 block of Orchard Avenue SE in south Kitsap County, at about 11:10 p.m.
The Kitsap County Coroner has identified the driver as Raymer Syril Wolf, 43, of Olalla. No one else was in the car, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Investigators say Wolf was driving a 1997 Toyota Avalon south on Orchard Avenue when the car crossed the centerline of the road into the northbound lane of travel and then flew off the shoulder of the roadway.
The vehicle hit five trees and a utility pole before swerving back onto the roadway and eventually coming to a stop.
The driver was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Excessive speed and the consumption of alcohol appear to be possible factors in the cause of the collision, said Kitsap County sheriff's deputies. The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone who may have information about this accident is asked to contact Deputy Ken Dickinson at (360) 337-4634.
