4 injured in 2 shootings in South Seattle
The first incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. while a man was working on his car in the parking lot of an auto parts store in the Rainier Valley neighborhood of South Seattle.
Ofc. Mark Jamieson said a green Cadillac pulled up on Rainier Avenue South, a second man got out of the car and fired at least three shots at him. Witnesses said they believe it was a teenager who opened fire and caused a chaotic scene.
"(The shooter) just walked down the hill pointed his gun, shot him right there and ran back up the hill and got in the car and took off," one witness said. "Everybody just started screaming. It's just madness."
"Dude just came down there and 'Pow, pow, pow!' Shot him three times and took off down hill," another witness said.
The shooter sped off and remains on the loose. The 29-year-old victim, who was shot in the chest, is in critical condition.
Men fire into car carrying 3 adults, toddler
About two hours later, King County Sherriff's deputies received reports of shots fired at another car near the intersection of 188th and International Boulevard in SeaTac.
Two men got out of a car and fired into a gold Cadillac, striking the driver and a male passenger, said John Urquhart with the King County Sheriff's Department. A mother and toddler in the back seat were not injured.
The driver was critically injured. Urquhart didn't know how badly wounded the passenger was. One of the shooters also suffered a groin injury.
The shooters then sped off to the north. Deputies later found the car north of SeaTac and were questioning two people inside. It's not known yet what prompted the shooting.
Police closed all northbound lanes of Pacific Highway South near S. 188th for the investigation.
It's not known yet if the two incidents are related. Police are still investigating both incidents.
