No arrests in disturbance, gunfire near Rainier Valley

SEATTLE - Police responded to reports of gunfire and a large disturbance near the Rainier Valley area Saturday night, but no one was hurt and no suspects were arrested.

Officers first reported to the scene, at 35th Avenue South and S. Alaska Street, at about 11 p.m., where they broke up a disturbance involving about 30 juveniles.

About 20 minutes later, there was a report of gunshots being fired in the same area, but officers were unable to locate anyone.

Then, at about 11:40 p.m., officers spotted a man running southbound along the building at 36th Avenue South and S. Alaska Street firing a handgun. The suspect was firing the gun to the east as he ran.

The man then fled between the houses and could not be found. There were no reports of injuries.
