Girl fatally shoots 12-year-old friend while handling pistol
MARSING, Idaho -- A Homedale boy has died after being shot by a friend in what investigators say was an accident.
The Ada County Coroner identified the boy as 12-year-old Marcos Jaramillo.
Owyhee County Sheriff Daryl Crandall said Marcos was at a home in Marsing with a 14-year-old girl who was handling a pistol Sunday afternoon.
Crandall said the girl apparently mishandled the weapon and shot Marcos in the head about 2:15 p.m.
The boy was airlifted to St. Alphonsus in Boise and died late Monday night.
Crandall said the two children are friends attended Homedale Middle School.
