Mill Creek prom back on following food fight

MILL CREEK, Wash. (AP) - The principal of a Mill Creek, Wash., high school that was the site of a huge cafeteria food fight says next week's senior prom is safe.

Henry M. Jackson High School Principal Terry Cheshire initially decided to temporarily suspend the prom in the wake of Thursday's food fight. But after talking with student leaders he says he's decided, in his words, "that punishing the entire school for the actions of a few students is not an appropriate response."

The principal of the suburban Seattle school says the students involved will be punished. Discipline could range from community service to suspensions. As of Friday, The Herald of Everett reports that about 16 students were facing possible discipline.
