Literally raining cats in the Puget Sound area

SEATTLE - It's literally raining cats in the Puget Sound area, as local shelters are overrun with felines, and they're asking for the public's help to save them.
At the Humane Society in Bellevue, they can hold about 100 cats comfortably, but they have closer to 300.
The agency's Brenda Burnett says that's also the case at six other animal organizations in two other counties.
"Cats are seasonal breeders," she says. "It could be that they're breeding a little later in the season because it has been such a warm season."
And Al Dams with King County Animal Services says though it's crowded, it's their policy not to put any of them down.
"When we get to the point when we're just really, really overcrowded and pulling our hair out, now we appeal to the community," he said.
Participating agencies are reducing cat adoption fees through November 10. Agencies include:
