SEATTLE -- Police raided three suspected brothels in the area following a year-long, multi-city investigation, according to a source close to the situation.
On Thursday officers served a search warrant at the Sacred Temple massage parlor near Eastlake Avenue and East Allison Street, which neighbors said has been in business for six or seven years.
"It's kind of been the little secret of the neighborhood, but most people just left it alone," said area resident Tyler Case.
"It was pretty, pretty obvious," said Thomas Uggelston, another area resident.
KOMO's source, who wished to remain anonymous, said investigators believe a 43-year-old woman named Rainbow Love ran the brothel, prompting prostitution and money laundering. She has been taken into custody.
Sacred Temple in Seattle's Eastlake neighborhood is one of three suspected brothels in King and Snohomish counties. Also suspected are the Moon Temple in Greenwood, another Moon Temple in Kirkland. Police also raided home in Marysville where Love lives with her four children.
Investigators questioned 18 women and four suspected Johns on Thursday. One of the men was jailed on an unrelated warrant.
The Seattle Police Vice Squad launched an investigation last year after neighbors complained about fliers advertising a business called the Sacred Temple -- a Web site offering nude photographs and questionable massage services. The Web site is now "temporarily off line."
More arrests could follow.
