A state wildlife agent prepares a tranquilizer dose while searching for the bear on Monday in Shoreline.
SHORELINE, Wash. -- A wandering young black bear was spotted again Friday morning in Shoreline.
King County sheriff spokesman John Urquhart said a man saw the bear in his backyard about 5 a.m.
"He sees bear, bear sees him, bear takes off over the back fence and hasn't been seen since," Urquhart said.
The sighting would seem to contradict a report yesterday from a resident who reported seeing the same bear in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood.
"Assuming this is a good sighting, and we seem to think it is, the bear is still in Shoreline," Urquhart said.
Over the weekend, the bear was spotted in Ballard and Magnolia, and the week before, there was a report of the bear in the Woodway neighborhood of Edmonds.
Wildlife agents said Tuesday they are hoping to help the bear get to where it needs to go, but since the animal is covering a lot of ground on its own, they think eventually he will find his way.
Officials will respond if the bear gets up a tree or is spotted or trapped in a backyard.
