Fire displaces 20 at Des Moines apartments

DES MOINES, Wash. -- Investigators here are trying to determine what started a fire that displaced 12 families on Friday.
The fire broke out about noon at an apartment complex at 21639 29th Ave South. Firefighters from three departments worked to get the flames under control, but three apartment units suffered heavy fire damage and others were filled with smoke and water. No one was injured, but firefighters found one cat dead inside the building. |
