CLE ELUM, Wash. - Two people were injured - one of them critically - when a chopper-style motorcycle collided with a small dirt bike Saturday night on a country road outside Cle Elum.

Deputies responded to the scene, in the 6600 block of Westside Road about 1 1/2 miles west of Mohar Road, at about 10 p.m., said Kittitas County Undersheriff Clayton Myers.

Myers said a 57-year-old Issaquah man was riding his Custom Chopper motorcycle west on Westside Road when he collided head-on with a dirt bike that was being ridden east by a 25-year-old Lake Tapps man.

The dirt bike rider was not wearing a helmet and suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was listed in critical condition early Sunday.

The chopper motorcyclist sustained a broken leg. He was taken to Harborview, where he is listed in stable condition.
