5 teens injured in overnight crash near Poulsbo
POULSBO, Wash. - Five young people were injured - three of them seriously - in a one-car crash Saturday night in Kitsap County near Poulsbo, emergency officials said.
Medics and sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, on Clear Creek Road south of Sherman Hill Road, at about 10 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they found a small Nissan four-door sedan that had crashed, said Jody Matson of the Poulsbo Fire Department.
A 19-year-old man was ejected from the vehicle and was found unconscious. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center’s trauma unit, in critical condition.
When crews approached the car, they found two young men trapped under the vehicle. One of them, an 18-year-old, was extricated and taken to Tacoma General Hospital in critical condition.
The other man, a 19-year-old, was extricated and taken to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton with serious injuries.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, and an 18-year-old female passenger were also taken to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton with minor injuries.
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and will release more information when next-of-kin has been notified.
