An online art auction is under way to raise money for the family of James Kim, who died of hypothermia last month while looking for help after his family got lost in the southern Oregon wilderness. Kim's wife and daughter stayed behind in the car and were rescued alive.

The Kims' tragic story touched artists back in their home town of San Francisco. One of the artists, Sara Paloma is now trying to raise money for the family through an online art auction.

"The wife and two little girls that don't have a dad and that's really tragic," she said.

Paloma is planning to auction off dozens of items on eBay, including her own work.

Others around the world have stepped up and added valuable pieces to the collections. Diana Fayt is one of the contributing artists.

"We can't replace the loss," Fayt said. "We could donate everything and it would never replace what they have lost, but we can support, stand behind, let the family know that we are there."

Kim's wife, Kati has long been a supporter of the local artists, selling their works at her two stores.

All of the artworks up for auction can be found on eBay.
