Portland ranks in Forbes' top 10 'abandoned cities'
PORTLAND, Ore. -- The recession means some of America's cities are being called "abandoned" today, and Portland is no exception.
Forbes.com just released a new list of the top 10 abandoned cities in America, and the city of Portland took the tenth spot.
The list took vacancy data from America's 75 largest metropolitan cities. The rankings are a combination of rental and homeowner vacancy-fluctuation rates.
First on the list is Kansas City. The San Francisco-Oakland area took second. In third place is Tucson, Ariz.
