Body of missing Edmonds man found in river
EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. -- The body of a 24-year-old Edmonds who had been missing since Saturday was recovered Thursday afternoon.

Deputies say Steven Frausto's body was located in the Columbia River just off the shore about 16 miles north of Orondo by biologists who were conducting a bird survey.

Frausto was part of a group of 10 among three boats heading near Chelan Falls when the three tied up together about 50 feet off the shoreline and just drifted for a while, said Douglas County Undersheriff Don Culp.

Frausto had reportedly been drinking and after a while sleeping in the stern of one boat, went out and sat on the bow.

After a while when the group went to leave, they noticed the man was missing. They spent about 10-20 minutes searching the shoreline and water and then called police.

Culp says no one heard Frausto fall or jump into the water.
