McCLEARY, Wash. (AP) - Two national missing child assistance groups are organizing a search for an 11-year-old McCleary girl who has been missing since June.

Lindsey Baum disappeared while walking home from a friend's house on the night of June 26.

Despite a massive search, police have been unable to explain her disappearance.

The KlaasKIDS Foundation and the Laura Recovery Center are conducting a weekend search will begin 9 a.m. Friday.

And once again, searchers will try to find something, anything that will bring them to Lindsey.

A man who knows all the feelings is Marc Klass. He flew in to town to offer Lindsey's mother support. In 1993, his daughter Polly was kidnapped and murdered.

"Families that find themselves in these kind of situations, need a lot of support," Klaas said. "They need a lot of help, and they need help particularly from others who have similar experiences."

Volunteers are searching woods on the outskirts of McCleary and in Elma. They're looking under bushes, looking in trails, searching for clothes, garbage bags, bones -- anything that can lead them to Lindsey.

Meanwhile, her mother refuses to give up hope.

"I hope to find my daughter soon," she said.

Volunteers will continue to search this weekend. Lindsey's mother says people are welcome to come out and help.
