Hutchison challenges Constantine to debates
After months criticism she was dodging questions from her opponents and the media, Tuesday Susan Hutchison officially challenged Dow Constantine to a series of public debates in the race for King County Executive.

"We welcome the opportunity to hear Chairman Constantine explain why he's failed to reform King County government during his seven years on the council," Hutchison told KOMO News.

Sandeep Kaushik with the Constantine campaign said his candidate welcomes the chance to debate Hutchison as well.

"Let the voters compare Dow's substance to her empty sound bites," said Kaushik.

Hutchison's official challenge is three televised debates before the November election.

Kaushik says Constantine would agree to debate Hutchison anywhere, anytime, anyplace.

Hutchison and Constantine were the top two vote getters in the August primary and now face each other in the November election for King County Executive.

While the job is officially nonpartisan, Constantine has made no secret of his ties to the Democratic party. Hutchison however continues to avoid publicly aligning herself with the Republican party despite an established record of conservative campaign donations and conservative views on social issues.
