Reginald and Shawna Beavis
KEIZER, Ore. - A 3-year-old boy is missing and may be in the Seattle area with his parents, who recently disappeared after they were ordered to give up custody of the child, police said.
The boy, Ashton Lee Beavis, is Native American and stands about 2 1/2 feet tall, weighs 50 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
His parents, Reginald and Shawna Beavis, are drug users and fled their residence in Marion County, Ore., on Aug. 20 after receiving a court order to give up custody of the boy, police said.
The Tribal Court of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde ordered the Beavis couple to relinquish their son after failing to comply with court-ordered drug treatment.
The whereabouts of the three are unknown, but a Keizer police spokesman said they may be in Seattle or Portland, Ore., or somewhere in Nevada.
The parents are considered fugitives, police said. Reginald Beavis has a statewide warrant for his arrest for contempt of court. Police also have probable cause to arrest both parents for custodial interference.
Officials said they may be driving a red 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Oregon license plate number WCT059.
Reginald Beavis, 40, is described as Native American, standing 5-feet-11-inches, weighing about 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Shawna Beavis, 38, is described as white, standing 5-feet-5-inches, with sandy blond hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who sees them, or knows of their whereabouts, is asked to contact Detective Tim Lathrop of the Keizer Police Department at 503-390-3713, or contact local authorities.
