Two 5th Brigade Stryker soldiers killed in Afghanistan
FORT LEWIS, Wash. -- Two soldiers from Fort Lewis' 5th Stryker Brigade were killed in Afghanistan on Monday, the Department of Defense said.
1st Lt. David T. Wright II, 26, of Moore, Okla. and Sgt. Andrew H. McConnell, 24, of Carlise, Pa., were killed in the country's southern region when enemies attacked their vehicle with an improvised bomb.
Wright had been in the Army for two and a half years and was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. McConnell enlisted nearly four years ago and had been stationed at Fort Lewis since early 2007.
