VERLOT, Wash. (AP) - A man has been found dead in a pickup truck that went off a steep embankment on a forest road east of Verlot, and Snohomish County sheriff's deputies say it appears to be a suicide.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Hover says the dead man is believed to a Granite Falls resident in his late 40s or early 50s.

Hover says a passer-by noticed the truck Thursday near the ice caves off a road near the Mountain Loop Highway, about 30 miles east of Everett. Two large towtrucks were needed to haul the pickup back to the road.
