SEATTLE -- A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on Friday night.

Police and fire officials said the man was crossing 14th Avenue South at South Washington Street when he was hit by a car.

The elderly man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. The man's name and condition were not immediately known.

The driver of the car, another elderly man, was not injured.

The cause of the crash has not been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
