Man arrested after standoff in Mount Vernon
MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- A man was arrested after a four-hour standoff early Wednesday following a domestic dispute at a home here.

Police were called to the house in the 1400 block of South 13th Street about 4:30 a.m. where a man allegedly fired at least two gun shots while a woman and two kids were in the house.

No one was injured in the shooting, but police surrounded the house and cordoned off several streets in the area.

Negotiators were called in and the man was arrested at about 8:25 a.m. He was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital for an evaluation, police said.

The woman and kids who were in the home were not harmed.
