Public's help sought in finding Tacoma bank robber

TACOMA, Wash. - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of robbing a Tacoma credit union and a bank in Fircrest.

Surveillance video from both robberies shows a white male, 20 to 25 years old, 6 feet to 6-feet-2-inches in height, with a medium build and clean shaven.

During the credit union robbery, on Thursday, he was seen wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a dark gray baseball hat.

Police said that the man entered the Community 1st Credit Union in the 4700 block of S. Pine St. in Tacoma at about 11:30 a.m.

The suspect entered the bank, approached the counter and handed the teller a note that said he was armed and demanded cash. The suspect gestured that he had a gun in his pocket, took the cash and walked from the bank heading north.

Detectives believe the same man may also be responsible for the Sept. 28 robbery of a First Citizens Bank in Fircrest. He wore similar clothing in the Fircrest bank robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call 253-591-5959. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and filing of charges against the suspect. All callers will remain anonymous.
